Double Down
Michael Kershnar (San Francisco, USA)
Double Down is not a zine, but rather a “lifestyle travelogue yearbook”, a look at Michael Kershnar’s past year spent making art, hanging out with friends and family, and skating, between Paris, Copenhagen, Arizona and San Francisco. The production took place at The Growlery space at Lower Haight in San Francisco.
Michael Kershnar (1979) started making art, and skateboarding at Huntington Beach Skate Park, Irvine, Southern California, during the Ed Templeton era, but his zine-making only really took off after university when he landed work at Element Skateboards and was allowed unrestricted access to the office colour copier. He now keeps zines on regular rotation as part of his art practice.
