Patrick Pinon is a versatile artist, painter, textile creator, and activist based in Paris. Graduating from the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Appliqués Duperré in 1984, Pinon has been exhibiting his paintings since 1985 and collaborating with style offices in France and Japan. Despite numerous personal and collective exhibitions, urban art has remained central to his work for over 30 years. Pinon is deeply engaged in fostering creativity, conducting art workshops for children, youth, and adults. Pinon’s art is deeply rooted in the streets, retaining the energy and immediacy of clandestine expression while conveying popular advocacy. Transitioning from walls to canvas, his works retain a rich and fragile surface, marked by layered papers and slogan-like motifs. Paul-Marie Gaire describes Pinon’s art as embodying the soul of a child, innocence, gravity, and an instinctive sense of danger. His oeuvre spans personal exhibitions like “Nomades” and “Voyages” to collective showcases such as “De la rue au Louvre” and “Nous et les autres.” Pinon’s artistic interventions extend beyond galleries, with public commissions including artistic interventions at universities and workshops with autistic children and adults. Pinon’s work has been acquired by prestigious collections like Agnès b. and the SACEM Fund for Contemporary Art.
